Diagnostic Sprint
The required starting point for paid work. In 1-2 weeks, with timely access, you receive a workflow map, a baseline, an ROI case and a priority action plan for one workflow.
What you receive
Four written deliverables for one workflow:
- Workflow map. How the work moves across people, tools, decisions and handoffs.
- Baseline. The current state, recorded before anything changes.
- ROI case. The business case for the candidate automation.
- Priority action plan. The recommended order of work.
Who it is for
Founders, operations leaders, RevOps and marketing leaders, and agency or services owners with one workflow that costs too much time, money or attention, who want a written plan before any build money is committed.
It also suits teams that intend to do the build themselves or with another vendor. The material is yours to use either way.
After delivery
You decide. You can stop here and use the workflow map, baseline, ROI case and action plan with your own team or another vendor. Or you can continue to a System Build, where integrations, decision rules, failure paths and acceptance criteria are fixed in writing before build. The Sprint fee is separate and is not credited toward a Build.
What is not included
- Architecture and a working automation. Those are System Build deliverables.
- Third-party API, hosting and software costs. These are always separate and require your approval.
Terms that apply to every engagement
- You own the delivered documentation and your data.
- Production accounts and credentials remain under your control. AfterMachines uses least-privilege access and managed credential storage.
- Your data is not used to train AI models.
- US-first. Available worldwide.
Start with the free workflow review
Before any paid work, a free 30-minute workflow review looks at one workflow, tests fit and chooses the right next step. You leave with one candidate workflow, a fit decision and a recommended next step.

What does the Diagnostic Sprint cost, and when is it paid?
$1,000 USD, fixed. Payment is due before work begins.
How long does it take?
1-2 weeks, assuming timely access to the workflow owner and the requested materials.
What do we receive?
Four written deliverables for one workflow: a workflow map, a baseline, an ROI case and a priority action plan.
Do we have to continue to a System Build?
No. You may stop after delivery and use the material with your own team or another vendor. The Sprint fee is not credited toward a System Build.
Why is it the first paid step?
The Diagnostic Sprint is the required starting point for paid work. It produces the workflow map, baseline, ROI case and priority action plan, so the decision to build, or to stop, rests on written material.
How is it different from the free workflow review?
The free 30-minute review ends with one candidate workflow, a fit decision and a recommended next step. It does not include a full workflow map, a validated ROI case, architecture or build scope. The Sprint delivers the map, the baseline, the ROI case and the action plan.
